Your health and safety are our top priority during this time. As we continue to navigate the ongoing situation surrounding coronavirus/COVID-19, we remain committed to acting in the best interest of you – our team members and communities.
Our government has named financial institutions, such as ours, as an essential service, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our branch networks in New York, New Jersey and South Florida are open and ready to help you with all of your financial and banking needs. We are proud to stand by you during this crucial time.
As our doors remain open, we have strengthened our retail banking controls and are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our branch visitors and team members. We’d like to share with you the steps we are taking here.
Branch Health and Safety Measures
We have enhanced our cleaning efforts.
We have strengthened our cleaning and sanitizing efforts consistent with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and guidance from national, state and local government and health officials, including cleaning and disinfection protocols and infection prevention guidance.
We are taking extra in-branch precautions.
We have supplied hand sanitizers and cleaning supplies to all branches for customer and employee use. Throughout the day we are additionally keeping the branches clean and cleaning workspaces before and after serving each customer.
We are keeping our team informed.
Continuing to educate our employees on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 and to establish protocols to help us effectively respond to virus-related scenarios.
We are enforcing social distancing.
We have introduced important social distancing protocols and are limiting the number of branch visitors at one time in order to allow six feet of space between each person.
Branch Operating Hours and Potential Branch Closures
We have adjusted our operating hours across our branch network and have temporarily closed several of our branches in order to reduce exposure to our customers and team members. These service adjustments may periodically change and will be updated on our Popular Bank ATM & Branch Locator tool.
These precautions are vital in keeping us all safe. However, we are fully prepared in the event of a confirmed potential exposure to COVID-19 in any of our branches. We’d like to share these protocols with you here.
Immediate branch closure
We will immediately close the affected branch to undergo extensive cleaning and disinfection processes consistent with the CDC guidance and guidance from national, state and local government and health officials.
Notifications to team members
We will notify all potentially exposed team members, who will undergo a standard 14-day self-quarantine consistent with CDC guidelines.
Alerts to customers
We will alert our customers of possible exposure through both branch signage and our social medial channels so that they can take necessary precautionary measures including social distancing and self-monitoring.
Safety assessments
We will reopen the branch to our team members and communities once it has been carefully assessed and deemed safe to do so.
